BCMCollege of Education organised a cultural program titled 'Azadi ka AmritMahotsav' to commemorate 75 glorious years of Indian independence. The day wasgraced by the benign presence of Sh. Suresh Munjal, Trustee, BCMF and Dr. PremKumar, Secretary, College Managing Committee. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Suresh Munjal, paid homage torevolutionaries who laid down their lives during India's freedom struggle. Healso shared a couplet penned by the great Bhagat Singh and evolutionary journeyof National Anthem. Addressing the students, Dr. Prem Kumar highlighted therelevance of Freedom in the present times and inspired the students tounderstand their responsibilities. He motivated one & all to take a pledgeto celebrate each day as 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. Agile students presented a plethora of itemsviz.  patriotic song titled 'Aisa DeshHai Mera' by Mr. Tarun & group, Speech by Ms. Nanadini, Solo dance by Ms.Harpreet Kaur, Group Dance by Ms.Guneet Kaur & group. Ms. Ankita presenteda lucid Power Point Presentation giving a glimpse of activities organisedduring the week long 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' program by the NSS wing of thecollege. The celebration concluded with foot tapping bhangra performance by Mr.Rahul & performance.

The college campus was filled with a spirit of patriotism as studentsbegan the day by distributing Tiranga to their friends and teachers. Thezealous BCMites sang patriotic songs like 'Ae watan , watan mere aabaad rahetu' , 'Teri Mitti mein mil jaawaan' executing the Har Ghar Tiranga theme intrue letter and spirit. Prof. of the College delivered an ExtensionLecture titled 'Say No To Drugs' to IX & X grade students of GovernmentHigh School, Khasi Kalan. Deliberating on the topic, she highlighted the causesand effects of Drug Abuse & Ways and Means to stay away from the deadlydiseases caused by Drug Overdose. Some eye opening videos related to the topicwere showcased to educate and guide the students. Rally on 'Har Ghar Tiranga'Campaign was flagged off from Govt. High School, Khasi Kalan. High spirited BCMitesparticipated in the rally and raised slogans like 'Hath Se Hath Milayenge,HarGhar Tiranga lehraenge', 'Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara', 'Sab to PyaraSada Jhanda, Sada Tinn Ranga Vala Tiranga' etc. Students very zealously took apledge and vowed to Say No Drugs and Yes to Life. BCM College ofEducation organised  Farewell functiontitled 'Jashan- E-Rukhsat 2022' for the students of the  outgoing batch (2020-2022) in the collegecampus. This fun filled day was graced by Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary, CollegeManaging Committtee. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the studentsfor the successful completion of the course and wished them good luck in theirfuture endeavours. He highlighted the relevance of enhancing  knowledge and skills in the present fastpaced era of endless opportunities. Mr. Karan won the title of 'Mr. BestCostume' and Ms. Nikita won the title of 'Miss Best Costume'.

BCM College of Education organized a function to commemorate 105th Birth Anniversary of Revered Mahatma Satyanand ji Munjal. The function began with the soulful recitation of Gayatri mantra followed by Ganesha Vandana. Principal Dr. Monika Dua extended formal welcome to Sh. Suresh Munjal, Trustee, BCMF & Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary, College Managing Committee. Speaking on the occasion, she fondly remembered Mahatmaji and how she always idolised the noble soul and tried to implement his teachings in letter and spirit. Sharing his words of wisdom, Sh. Suresh Munjal motivated one and all to follow the path shown by revered Bauji to make a difference in the lives of fellow brethren. He lucidly articulated that living a life imbued with values is the righteous way to celebrate  Mahatma Ji' s Birth Anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prem Kumar paid homage to Mahatmaji by highlighting three magnificent traits of Bauji’s personality viz. Discipline, Hard Work, Down to Earth. Dr. Suprerna Khanna, Asst. Prof. paid a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Ji on Kamalia Ka Sant, Kamaal kar gya. Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Asst. Prof.  recited an emotional poem titled 'Mahaan Se Mahatma' reminiscing Mahatma Ji's positivity and nobility. Dr. Jasdeep Kaur, Asst. Eco Club of BCM College of Education celebrated National Science Day with a solemn attempt to create interest in Science & Technology among young generation and also to foster creativity among Pupil Teachers. Science Exhibition at Govt. High School, Khasi Kalan, Caption Writing & Poster Making Competitions were organized to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the great Nobel Laureate Sir C.V. Raman. BCMites very zealously showcased their self-prepared Models on various scientific concepts viz. Rain water Harvesting, Global Warming, Artificial Satellites etc. This exhibition was typically designed to hone HOTS like Critical Thinking, Communication Skills, Teamwork, and Creativity of Pupil Teachers. IGNOU ANNOUNCES DECEMBER EXAMINATION FROM MARCH 4, 2022

B.C.M. College of Education, Ludhiana (2260P), an approved Study Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is offering various courses viz.  M.A. Education, M.A. Adult Education, P.G. Online Awareness Programme on National Voters Day at B.C.M College of Education

Electoral Literacy Club of the college celebrated 12^th National Voters Day to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (25 January 1950). It was a solemn attempt to encourage the young pupil teachers to vote and maximize the enrolment of voters in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections.   Dr. Suprerna Khanna, acquainted the students with the Theme for National voter's day 2022 –‘Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy’ and stressed on ‘Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative’. Ms. Rajinder Kaur, an M. Ed. Students recited a thought provoking poem-‘ Ballot is more powerful than bullet’ on this occasion. Ms. Amita Khosla showcased a video highlighting the history and significance of National Voters day followed by a satirical poem titled ‘Democracy’ by Dr. Suprerna Khanna. Ms. Pooja & Ms. Garima recited a poem onMathematics. Ms. Harnam Kaur read an article which revealed that DigitalTechnology and Coding has roots in Mathematics and accentuated that the Teachersshould help students overcome the fear of studying Mathematics. Ms. PavneetKaur shared some interesting facts about Ramanujan’s life. Mr. Shivam showed atrailor of the movie based on Ramanujan’s life which inspired students to knowmore about this great man. It’s worthwhile to mention that 21 Education Colleges of Zone A participatedin this 4-day long Zonal Youth Festival. The zeal and fervour of students wasno bounds as they won prizes in various items both youth and heritage. BCMitesbagged First Positions in Collage Making, Still Life, Folk Song, Group Song,Geet, Classical Vocal, Debate, Elocution, Punjabi & Hindi Handwriting,Knitting, Skit & Malwai Gidda. It was a solemn attempt to instil in their mindsthat all are equal before law and no discrimination is to be made on the basisof caste, colour, creed,  gender,disability etc. The student teachers very zealously participated in the event.Ms. Harsimran Kaur presented a thought-provoking PPT on the topic-‘Efforts madeby the Govt.” while Ms. Jyoti recited a poem entitled ‘Equality’. An animatedvideo depicting “Unequal Opportunity Race” was showcased by Ms. Akanksha onthis occasion. B.Ed. Students (2019-21) have made the collegeproud by achieving I, II, III, VIII and X positions in Panjab University B.Ed.results. Ms. Rajan stood I by scoring 93.94% followed by Ms. Amanpreet Kaur andMs. Kritika Sharma at II & III positions with 93.63%, 93.50% marksrespectively. Ms. Palak Gupta and Ms. Chahat Garg shared the VIII position with92.44% while Ms. Shivani scored 92.13% and got the tenth position. It won’t beout of place to cite that 107 students have scored more than 80% marks & 14students have got more than 70% marks. Peace Club ofBCM College celebrated International Peace Day 2021 on the theme  'Recovering Better for an Equitable andSustainable World’. A blissful aura was created as everyone prayedwholeheartedly for the well-being of the whole society especially the underprivileged and marginalised, ones who have suffered the most during COVIDtimes.The function began with the soulful prayer song by Mr. Karan. Ms.Akanksha presented a video entitled 'Real Peace' followed by a beautifulthought on Peace by Ms. Jyoti and a inspiring poem ‘Mann ki Shanti’ by Ms.Muskaan. Virtual Workshop on ' How to make Paper Bags' at BCM College

NSS wing of BCM Collegeconducted an online workshop on                         'How to make PaperBags'  to make the student teachers awareabout the use of biodegradable paper bags. Resource person of the day,     Ms. Yamuna Arora, Asst. Prof. BCM Collegeof Education very diligently demonstrated a simple procedure of making Paperbags using eco-friendly materials like newspapers, waste paper sheets, ribbon,jute strings etc. The solemn objective of the virtual Workshop was to sensitisethe future teachers about the environmental threats viz. climate change,environmental pollution and scarcity of resources and also to motivate them toadopt sustainable lifestyle choices including recyclable paper bags. Eco Club of BCM College of Education organizedExtension Lecture on ‘Conserve Energy to Preserve Ecosystem’ with an aim tosensitize young future teachers to conserve energy for a gleaming future. Thevirtual session began with the recital of Gayatri mantra followed by formalwelcome by Principal, Dr. Monika Dua. Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary, BCM CollegeManaging Committee emphasized that Conservation of Energy is vital forsustainable development. Judicious use of non-renewable sources of energy andharnessing renewable sources would go a long way in preserving globalecosystems. The Resource Person of the day, Mrs. Kusum Lata, State &National Level Awardee, Retd. Principal, Govt. High School, Sarabha Nagar,Ludhiana expatiated in detail about Conserving Energy by utilizing renewablesources of energy viz. wind, water, sun. She very comprehensively enumerated PowerPoint Presentation and inspired everyone to save energy in order to save MotherEarth Furthermore; she motivated one and all to indulge in kitchen and terracegardening and avoid using appliances emitting UV rays. To make the occasionmomentous, Ms. Sonali gave speech on the aforementioned topic, Mr. Ramanrecited a self-composed poem on Awareness about Environment, Ms. Shivanishowcased an informative PPT on the topic in question and Ms. Amanpreet Kaursang a beautiful song giving rays of hope for a better future. Peace Club of B.C.M. College of Education organised an Online Declamation Contest on the theme ‘Shaping Peace Together’to spread compassion & hope in the present pandemic situation. The event began with the recital of the pious Gayatri Mantra followed by words of welcome by Principal Dr. Monika Dua. She warmly greeted Hon. Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary B.C.M. College Managing Committee& the esteemed panel of judges Prof. Rashmi Grover (Retd.), Dept. of English, GCG, Ludhiana & Dr. Nerotma Sharma, Associate Professor Malwa Central College of Education For Women, Ludhiana. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prem Kumar stressed on the importance of Peace in the present world scenario& added that India ought to be torch bearer of Peace for the world. Prof. Rashmi Grover too emphasised the relevance of Peace in the current times & appreciated the initiative taken by the Peace Club of the college. Further, Dr. Nerotma in her address motivated the participants by saying that competitions like this help in nurturing moral, righteous & virtuous individuals who would positively contribute towards building a harmonious society. 10 students from different colleges participated in the competition & stupendously presented their views & personal experiences on the aforesaid topic. The webinarcommenced with the words of welcome by Principal Dr. Monika Dua, followed by thePresidential remarks by Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary, College Managing Committee.Dr. Prem Kumar emphasised on Accessibility, Affordability, quality of Education& inclusion of ICT in formal educational set up in the present scenario.Dr. S.K. Yadav, Former Head, Dept. of Teacher Education, NCERT& AcademicConsultant NCTE, New Delhi & Dr. Navleen Kaur, Professor, Dept. ofCommunity Education & Disability Studies, P.U. Chandigarh were the ResourcePersons of the Day. Dr. S.K. Yadav very elaborately deliberated on the formerpolicies of Education viz. Mudaliar Commission, Kothari Education Commissionand also on the challenges faced during the execution of NEP 2020. Further, Dr.Yadav alleged that NEP 2020 is not a challenge but an opportunity to elevateTeacher Education in 21^st century India. Speaking on the occasion,Dr. Navleen emphasised on the various facets of NEP 2020 like Equality,Inclusion, Multi-disciplinary Approach & Experiential Learning. She alsohighlighted Holistic Internship Programme and practical execution of lifeskills in real life. Both the Resource Persons very patiently answered thequeries of the 97 delegates making the session a prolific learning experience.The webinar concluded with formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. ManminderKaur, Associate Prof. of the college.

Studentsof B.Ed. (Sem.-IV) brought laurels to the college by achieving III, VI, & IXpositions in Panjab University Result. Ms. Mohneet Kaur stood III by scoring  90.63% followed by Ms. Abhisheta and Ms.Jasveen Kaur at VI & IX positions with 89.94% & 89.75% marksrespectively. We feel elated to share that 82 students have scored more than80% marks & 59 students have attained more than 70% marks. Management &Principal Dr. Monika Dua applauded & congratulated the faculty &students for their astounding success in B.Ed. Examination.

Peace Club of B.C.M. College celebrated International Peace Day on the theme ‘Shaping Peace Together’ to spread compassion & hope in the face of this pandemic. The celebrations commenced by paying obeisance to Almighty God followed by observance of 1 minute silence. Inn her address Principal Dr. Monika Duanarrated a thought provoking story on Peace. Ms. Neha & Ms. Shilpa Thakur deliberated on the topic ‘Peace’ while Mr. Devinder Kumar & Mr. Gursharan Singh’s melodious songs enthralled one & all.  Ms. Jaspreet Kaur & Mr. Joginder recited poems highlighting the importance of peace. Mr. Manik showcased an informative Power Point Presentation emphasising the History of International Peace Day.   Ms. Ravinder presented a video clip on ‘Do's and Don’ts of COVID-19’ and accentuated on Shaping Peace Together in the current pandemic situation keeping social distancing intact. Literary Club in collaboration with Hindi Dept. of B.C.M. College of Education celebrated Hindi Diwas with great zeal and fervor to promote Hindi and to spread awareness about the language. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the importance of Story Telling by saying that Storytelling is a unique way for students to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for other cultures, and promote a positive attitude among people from different lands, races and religions. Department of Physical Education of B.C.M. College of Education celebrated National SportsDay to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Hockey Legend Dhyan Chand Singh.B.Ed. Students, Mr. Rajat Thakur, Ms. Shilpa Thakur & Mr. Sanjeev showcased informative Power Point Presentations on ‘Journey of Dhyan Singh to DhyanChand’ ; ‘Sports Honours received in the year 2020’ & ‘Contribution ofSports & Upcoming Events in India’ respectively to spread awareness on theimportance of sports. An Online Poem Recitation Competition entitled ‘Tarang Jeewan Ki’ was organized by B.C.M. College of Education, Ludhiana in collaboration with Dept. of Youth Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh via Google Meet Software Application. Principal Dr. Monika Dua welcomed Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director, Youth Welfare, P.U., Chandigarh & Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary, B.C.M. College Managing Committee. 23 students from various colleges affiliated to P.U. Chandigarh participated live in this competition. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nirmal Jaura appreciated the efforts of the college for providing an online platform to the young talent by selecting an appropriate theme ‘Tarang Jeewan Ki’ during this COVID time. He encouraged the participants to move ahead in life with positive spirit. Dr. Prem Kumar also motivated the participants and congratulated the faculty and participants for putting up a wonderful virtual show. NSS Volunteers of the college under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Ms, Manjit Kaur distributed Handmade Safety Face Masks to Sweepers, Rickshaw Pullers, Domestic Help, Community Workers around their houses truly standing up to the motto of NSS-‘Not Me but You’. NSS Programme Officer appreciated the efforts of the NSS Volunteers and motivated them to continue such Nobel endeavours that reflect the essence of democratic living.

College of Education celebrated World Environment Day, keeping in mind the theme of World Environment Day 2020- 'Celebrate Biodiversity' a concern that is both urgent and existential. To sensitize the students about the current environmental crisis, the college organized Poster & e-Collage making activities. Despite the lockdown situation, B.Ed., B.Ed. Special Education & M.Ed. Students very enthusiastically planted saplings, prepared posters and e-collages on the assigned theme. The e-collages made by Mr. Raman, Vice President of Eco Club, Ms.Mohneet, University topper & Posters made by Ms. Harnam Kaur were highly applauded.  Principal Dr. Monika Dua & Eco Club Incharges, Dr. Jasdeep Kaur & Ms. Kanwal appreciated the efforts of the students.

Placement Cell of B.C.M. College of Education, Ludhiana in collaboration with District Bureau of Employment & Enterprises (DBEE), Ludhiana conducted an Online Counselling Session via Webex App to acquaint all the students with the new job opportunities offered by DBEE, Ludhiana. The Online Counselling Session began with the recital of the Gayatri Mantra and Principal Dr. Monika Dua’s formal welcome of the Resource Persons, Ms. Ramandeep, PCS, Employment Generation& Training Officer, DBEE, Ludhiana & Dr. Nidhi, Career Counselor, DBEE , Ludhiana. Ms. Ramandeep, EGTO, DBEE gave very useful Tips & shared the online resources for preparation of SSC, CGL & PCS entrance exams. Dr.Nidhi very elaborately deliberated on importance of Communication, Employability, Pedagogical Skills, Content & Technological Knowledge for a teacher. She also updated the students with Punjab Ghar Ghar Rozgar & Karobar Mission (PGRKAM) & important helpline numbers. Both the resource persons very patiently answered the queries of the students making the session Interactive & highly effective. Dr. Jasdeep Kaur, Placement Officer of the college thanked the resources persons for sharing valuable information regarding job avenues with the pupil teachers.

College to pay asoulful tribute to revered Mahatmaji  onhis Birth Anniversary. Principal Dr. Monika Dua very fondly remembered thefatherly presence of Bauji in the institution and paid homage to the greatphilanthropist. She elucidated that Mahatmaji would always be a source ofinspiration in all the endeavours. During this online deliberation, Dr. JasdeepKaur, Asst. Women Cell of B.C.M College of Education, Ludhiana celebrated International Women’s day with great fervor, zest and zeal thereby sensitizing the future teachers about the unprecedented elevation of women in the Indian society and across the globe under the guidance of incharges Ms. Gagandeep Kaur & Ms. Shilpa. The celebration began with remembrances of Goddess of Strength, Wisdom & Vibrant Energy by chanting Dugra Mantra. Ms. Riya & Ms. Jeewanjyoti recited poems, Mr. Gursharan Singh, Mr. Kapil, Ms. Harpreet Kaur and Ms. Chahat sang melodious songs, Ms. Sudiksha enthralled one and all with her mesmerizing dance performance. Mr. Rahul shared PowerPoint Presentation highlighting the achievements of women in different fields. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Gagandeep Kaur voiced the purpose of celebrating ‘International Women’s Day’ by securing women’s rights and shaping more tolerant and equitable societies. 

Extensionlecture on the topic ‘Traffic Awareness’ was organised by B.C. M. College ofEducation, Ludhiana to sensitise the students regarding vital issues related toTraffic viz. Traffic Rules & regulations, erroneous practices followedwhile driving, precautions to be taken by the driver. Ms. Himanshi Arora,Safety Riding Coordinator was the Resource Person of the day. She acquaintedthe students with Basic Road Safety Traffic Rules through an informative powerpoint presentation and some real life videos. Furthermore, she stressed onusing safety gauzes like helmets, Seat belts, following road signs and signals.She raised the slogan ‘Helmet On, Life On’. Mr. Jasvir Singh also inspired allthe students to follow traffic rules diligently as 1.5 lakh deaths in Indiaevery year are caused due to road accidents. He emphasised that loss of humanresources affects economy of a nation at an alarming rate. Speaking on the occasion,Principal Dr. Monika Dua motivated the students to follow traffic rules byhighlighting the importance of driving licence, helmets and seat belts.

Ecoclub of B.C. M. College of Education, Ludhiana celebrated National Science Dayin the honour of the great Noble laureate, Sir C.V.Raman who discovered TheRaman Effect in Feb.28, 1928. Mrs. Kusum Lata, National Awardee & FormerPrincipal, Govt. High School, Sarabha Nagar Ludhiana was the Resource Person ofthe day. She delivered an Extension Lecture on the topic-‘How to DevelopScientific Attitude’ and motivated the would be teachers to fosteropen-mindedness, objectivity & rationality in their day to day work. PosterMaking & Rangoli Making Competitions on the theme Science and Technologywere organised. Students presented powerpoint presentation, delivered speeches& staged skit to instil spirit of objectivity & rationality among oneand all.                Ms. Jeevan Jyotistood first followed by Ms. Damini at the second position and Ms.Abhisheta atthe third position in Poster Making competition. B.C.M.College observed National Voters’ Day in order to encourage more young votersto take part in the political process. Ms. Swati Tiwana , Joint Commissioner –cum ERO 060 – Ludhiana East addressed pupil teachers and motivated them tobecome responsible citizens of the nation by contributing in the formation ofthe government. She enlightened all present to make right use of their voting rightbecause every vote counts. In addition, Ms. Swati distributed voter cards tothe voters who will cast their vote for the first time. NSSWing of BCM College of Education organised 10^th NSS camp in thevillage Khasi Kalan & Tajpur from Dec. 14, 2019 to Dec. 20, 2019. Sr.Parminder Singh Gill, Chief Administrator, GLADA, Ludhiana graced the occasionas Chief Guest at the Valedictory function. Sh. Suresh Munjal Ji, Trustee, LBCMFoundation, Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary BCM College Managing Committee,Principals of sister institutes were among the dignitaries present to charm thefunction. Principal, Dr. Monika Dua, welcomed the guests and applauded theefforts of NSS officers of the college and all NSS volunteers who zealouslyparticipated in various activities organised during the camp. NSS volunteerspresented a beautiful cultural programme viz. songs, skit, group dance and poems.The programme officer Ms. Manjeet Kaur read the report of 10^th NSSCamp. Glimpses of NSS Camp were also shown to the gathering by Ms. ShilpaKaura. During the seven-day long camp, students actively organised CleanlinessDrive at Govt. High School, Gurudwara Sahib, Aanganwadi, Dispensary in villagesKhasi Kalan & Tajpur led a Rally on the theme ‘Swastha Bharat, SamridhBharat’, Women Health & Hygiene Awareness Camp was everyday activity duringthe camp. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Suresh Munjal Ji motivated and inspiredthe students by saying that Teachers have the prime responsibility in buildingthe character of students so they ought to have a healthy attitude & richvalues.  Sr. Parminder Singh Gill gavemantras for happy life by doing selfless service for community and become anasset for nation.

An ExtensionLecture on ‘Learning Disability’ was organized to mark the ‘World DisabilityDay’ at B.C.M. College. Resource Person of the Day, Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur, Principal,Govt. Institute for Blind (Braille Bhawan), Ludhiana very diffidently deliberatedon ‘Disabilities’ andmotivated the student teachers to be compassionate towards the persons who arechallenged in one or the other way. She explained the real meaning of compassioni.e. Empathy. Further, she endorsed everyone to be thankful to Almighty forblessing us with all the senses and stressed on making use of senses in apositive way.  Speaking on the occasionMr. Obaid Anwar, Asst. Prof., B.Ed. Special Education Dept. highlighted the HistoricalPerspective Of ‘InternationalDay Of Persons With Disabilities’.  Principal Dr.Monika Dua welcomed the resource person of the day saying we should feelblessed to have such an inspiring  personality with us. She further stated thatDisability is our Inability to see Abilities in the person.

B.C.M. Collegeorganized Extension Lecture on ‘Swami Vivekananda Ji’s Chicago Address’ incollaboration with CTEF. The lecture was organized to mark the celebration of125^th Anniversary of Swami ji’s historic Address. Sh. ChanderShekhar Talwar, Retired IAS officer and presently Chairman of Red CrossSociety, Punjab was the Resource person of the day and very beautifully deliberatedon the Swami Ji’s speech with his mesmerizing words. He told the audience thatGame changer, eternal Guru, Prophet of God, Champion Speaker, Messenger of Godare the adjectives whose recipient was Swami Vivekananda Ji after he deliveredhis speech in America. Messages of Swami Ji were delivered with enormoussublimity by Sh. Chander Shekhar Talwar Ji. Dr. Khushvinder Kumar Ji, PresidentCTEF, Punjab & Chandigarh chapter also graced the occasion and addressedpupil teachers to motivate to become great teachers. Dr. Vinay Sofat, AssociateProf. R.K. Arya College, Mr. S. K. Aggarwal, Secretary,  Swami Vivekananda Study Circle also graced theoccasion. Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary, College Managing Committee proposed theformal vote of thanks.

550^th BirthAnniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated at B.C.M. College withgreat zeal and enthusiasm to pay homage to the great messenger of God. The daybegan with Shabad Gayan as students devotedly sang gurbaani hymns ‘Satgur NanakPargateya Miti Dhund Jag Chanan Hoa’. Students recited poems, delivered speechesand showcased Power Point Presentations on the life and times of Guru Nanak DevJi. Song titled ‘Nanak Da Putt Haan, Teraan Teraan Tolaanga’ sung by a B.Ed.student Mr. Gursharan Singh, left the audience spell bound. M.Ed. student, Ms.Tejinder Kaur narrated the sakhi of ‘Wali Kandhari and Guru Nanak Dev Ji’ toconvey a virtuous message Do good toothers and good will come back to you. SocialScience Club of the college took the initiative to celebrate Vigilance AwarenessWeek on the theme ‘Integrity-A Way of Life’ w.e.f. Oct. 30-Nov. 2, 2019. Theweek commenced with the Integrity Pledge to motivate the students to practiceintegrity in their life. All the students and the faculty members along withthe club incharges jointly swore to abstain from corrupt practices and followthe path of righteousness. Various Activities like Essay writing, SloganWriting & Poster Making on the aforementioned theme were organized in thecollege to instill the feeling of integrity among the future teachers.      Ms.Gagandeep Kaur & Ms. Ritu Mahajan, the teacher incharges appreciated theefforts of the students.

National Unity Day wascelebrated at B.C.M. College to commemorate Birth Anniversary of the ‘Iron Manof India’, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as per NCTE guidelines. A pledge to mark‘National Unity Day’ was sworn in by students and faculty members with a soleaim to foster, reinforce, preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and securityof our nation. In order to pay homage to the great patriot and to acquaint theyoung pupil teachers with his ideology and teachings, a Debate Competition onthe topic ‘Is Ideology of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel relevant in the presentera?’ was organized. The Panel of judges for the Declamation Competitionincluded Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Ms. Manjit Kaur & Ms. Shilpa Kaura. Ms. NehaBhardwaj was declared first followed by Mr. Satnam Singh at the second positionand Ms. Navpreet at the third position. Speaking on the occasion, Principal,Dr. Monika Dua, reminisced the philosophy of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel andmotivated the future teachers to follow his footsteps.

Eco Club of B.C.M. College of Education, Ludhiana organized Rally to sensitizeand increase awareness about Eco friendly Diwaliamong the students and local residents. Dr. Prem Kumar, Secretary of thecollege flagged off the rally and encouraged the students to celebrate Diwali in anecofriendly manner. All the Students raised slogans like ‘Clean Diwali,Green Diwali’; ‘Khushiyon ko Haan, Pataakhon ko Na’ & ‘Dharti ko Swarg Banayenge,Pataake Nahi Jalaayenge’. B.C.M. College of Education,Ludhiana won Overall Trophy at the Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival 2019 heldat Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Education, Kamlooh from Oct. 3-6, 2019. TheCollege bagged 17 First Prizes, 11 Second Prizes and 08 Third prizes andcumulatively won total 36 prizes in different items.  Legacy of the college is carried forward veryelegantly this year as well as college begged Overall trophy for 5 consecutiveyears from session 2013- 2014 to 2017- 2018 and 1^st Runner up Trophyfrom last 2 sessions 2017-2018, 2018-2019. B.C.M. Managing Committeecongratulated and appreciated the faculty and students for their accomplishments.

Literary Club incollaboration with Hindi Dept. of B.C.M. College of Education celebrated HindiDiwas with great zeal and fervor. Students enthusiastically recited Hindi poems,delivered speeches, performed skits highlighting the importance of the Nationallanguage etc. Relevance of Hindi in 21st century India was beautifullypresented through Power point presentations. Declamation on the topic ‘AdhunikJeevan mein Hindi ka mahatav’ was also organized where students very ardentlyexpressed their views. Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Head of Hindi Dept. magnificentlyelucidated ‘Historical perspective’ of Hindi as well as its significance in thepresent time. Ms. Jasmeet Bedi, Asst. Prof., B.C.M. College recited a beautifulpoem depicting ‘Reality of Life’. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prem Kumar,Executive Director, LBCMF applauded and motivated the students to respect andexercise the National language proficiently. In Sync with the guidelinesby MHRD, NSS Wing of the college organizeda fortnight long Swachhta Pakhwara Programme on the theme ‘Save Water’ &‘Say No to Plastics Initiative’ from Sep. 1-15, 2019. The programme was markedby an extravaganza of events and competitions viz. Poster Making Competition,File & Folder Making Competition and Creative Writing Competition on theaforementioned theme. To sensitize students to say no to non biodegradablematerials like Plastics, workshops on ‘Bags from Rags’ & ‘Best out ofWaste’ were organized where students very zealously made bags, files &folders from waste cloth etc. An exhibition of these bags, files and folderswas also put up to motivate one and all. Ms. Kanwalpreet Kaur, Asst. Prof.deliberated on ‘Water Conservation’ and acquainted the students with thepresent scenario of water levels in India & round the globe. Students alsorecited poems, delivered speeches, showcased Power point Presentations & stagedNukkad Naataks on ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan’.

National ProductivityWeek was celebrated at BCM College of Education on the theme ‘Economy forProductivity & Sustainability’ from Feb. 12-18, 2019 as per guidelines ofNCTE. Students whole heartedly participated in various activities viz. EssayWriting Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, Discussion, making power pointpresentations on ‘Economy for Productivity & Sustainability’ & screeningvideos related to productivity. Ms. Ritu Mahajan  & Ms. Gagandeep Kaur sensitized thestudents about role of human resources in Sustainability & Productivity.

BCMites achieved 25prizes at Panjab University Zonal Skill in Teaching and On the Spot TeachingAid Preparation Competition which included 9 prizes in Pedagogy of PhysicalScience, Commerce, Economics, Math & Computer Science at Rayat College ofEducation, Ropar on Jan. 18, 2019; 8 prizes in Pedagogy of Languages & FineArts at GTB Khalsa College of Education, Dasua on Jan. 22, 2019 & 8 prizesin Pedagogy of Social Studies and Home science at D.A.V. of Education,Hoshiarpur on Jan. 25, 2019. At the Zonal level, the students made the collegeproud by winning 11 first positions, 7 second positions & 7 thirdpositions. While Ms.Sukhpreet Kaur, B.Ed. General (Sem.-III) student made the college proud byscoring 84.7% and standing fourth in P.U. InternationalYoga Day was celebrated with full zeal and fervor at B.C.M. College ofEducation, Ludhiana at the college campus keeping in mind the sole aim tospread the awareness about yoga and its benefits in one’s lifestyle. Therecourse person and alumnus of the college, Ms. Supreet Kaur, P.R.T. fromB.C.M. Sr. Sec. School, Sector-32, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana enthusiasticallypracticed different asanas like Surya Namaskar, Uttanasana, Tadasana,Trikonasan, Kapaal Bharti and Vajra asana etc. The Principal and Staffemphasized the significance of yoga and meditation and motivated the studentsto adopt the same in their daily life to stay fit and healthy.
