Eco Club of BCM College of Education organized Inter College Declamation and Trash to Treasure Competition on ‘Science for Sustainable Development: Promoting Green Technologies’ to celebrate National Science Day as tribute to a great Nobel Laureate Sir C.V. Raman and to sensitize the young minds by making them aware about relevance of Science in 21 st century. Principal Dr. Monika Dua formally welcomed Chief Guest of the day, Dr.Tejdeep Kaur Kler, Principal Ornithologist and Head, Deptt. of Zoology, PAU Ludhiana and esteemed panel of Judges - Dr. Honey Walia, Associate Prof. Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana and Dr. Harjeet Kaur, Asst. Prof., Guru Hargobind College of Education, Raikot. Participants from various colleges of the city participated enthusiastically in Declamation and Trash to Treasure Competition. Ms.Komalpreet Kaur from G.N.E. College was declared first, Ms Harneet from SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana was adjudged second while Ms. Yogita from GTB National College Dakha was adjudged third, Ms. Simran from D.D. Jain College of Education and Ms. Gurleen Kaur from BCM College of Education received Appreciation Award. In the Trash to Treasure competition Ms. Harnam Kaur from Nankana College of Education secured first position, Ms. Harpriya from Govt. College (East) secured second position, Ms. Jaismeet Kaur from G.N.E. College, Ludhiana secured third position and Ms. Gunika received Appreciation Award. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tejdeep Kaur highlighted the importance of Science for sustainable development and inspired the youngster to integrate scientific insights in their daily life to build a sustainable future. She quoted one should never stop learning and grow holistically. Dr. Honey Walia and Dr. Harjeet Kaur in their motivational address motivated young minds to tap their potential and believe in themselves by staying connected to their roots.
