Eco Club of B.C.M. College of Education organised a visit to the Miyawaki Forest at Punjab Agricultu

Eco Club of B.C.M. College of Education organised a visit to the Miyawaki Forest at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana to sensitise would be teachers on National Science Day, February 28, 2026. BCMites thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Miyawaki forests spread over 1.5 acres, developed by Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. in collaboration with Eco Sikh Organisation. The students were guided by Mr. Amit, Head of CSR, Vardhman Steels; Mr. Harnek Singh and Dr. Rohit Grover, who explained the ecological and medicinal benefits of various plant species. The team from Vardhman Special Steels and Eco Sikh acquainted the students with the diverse varieties grown in the forest and the scientific technique behind the Miyawaki method. Mr. Pavneet Singh Head, Eco Sikh further elaborated on the process of raising dense forests and inspired students to adopt sustainable practices. This experiential

learning opportunity enriched students’ understanding of ecological conservation and highlighted the importance of scientific temper in addressing environmental challenges. Dr.Jasdeep Kaur Inchage Eco Club accompanied the students.
